My Xmas trip to Italy Day 4: The Castle in the Park of Miramare

After the 4hours++ marathon Xmas lunch, we walked along the sea and enter the park.Since it's already 4.30pm we have to rush a bit because the park (with the castle in it) closes at 5pm!

According to Wikipedia:-

The Miramare Castle (Italian: Castello di Miramare; Slovene: Grad Miramar, German: Schloß Miramar) is a 19th century castle on the Gulf of Trieste near Trieste, northeastern Italy. It was built from 1856 to 1860 for Austrian Archduke Ferdinand Maximilian and his wife, Charlotte of Belgium, later Emperor Maximilian I and Empress Carlota of Mexico, to a design by Carl Junker.

The park of Miramare, which at one time had no vegetation, and has now a surface area of 22 hectares (54 acres), stands on a rocky promontory overlooking the Adriatic Sea.

Can't see my face at all. Therefore I just replace it with another equally adorable face! LOL

The first ever flower presented by my Honey --> Is a little lavender bracnh plucked from the garden! He is so so NOT romantic when it comes to FLOWER. He never buy me any flower before : (

Can you imagine how I feel when we walked into the restaurant in the noon and when you finished the lunch and walked out of the restaurant, your watch is pointing at 430pm. The sun is setting and the sky is getting dark?? I feel like my day gone in a flash!

The castle's grounds include an extensive cliff and seashore park of 22 hectares (54 acres) designed by the Archduke. The grounds were completely re-landscaped to feature numerous tropical species of trees and plants.

My Xmas trip to Italy Day 4: Christmas Lunch

On the Christmas Day itself we are having lunch with my Honey's family and family friends at a restaurant nearby the beach. I actually bring my Santa hat but nobody seems wearing it so I just keep it in my luggage and wear the black hat my honey bought me.

I asked him try to smile brightly but Honey keep squinting his eyes due to the direct sun light.

I woke up. Open the window from our room. Amazed by that kind of ocean blue that will never be seen in Malaysia. But I couldn't stand long in front of the window and enjoy the view because the morning breeze is so so cold~~~ *Faster jump back to my Honey in bed*

Honey got me a nice black dress with a furrrrrry overcoat. I like my outfit very much!! ^^

We stayed in his parents house on Xmas-eve

We can always see the ocean along the way from his house going down hill~~~ I can't stop inhaling sharply whenever I glimpse the slightest part of the blue.

Actually I haven't got enough with the ocean but his family & friends were standing nearby waiting us to 'done our business' so I just simply snatch a few, quickly join the group and together we walk towards the restaurant.

Well, not going to understand the menu besides the price! So my honey just ordered the food that he thinks I will like it, or else? He will switch with me : )

Eating the bread before the appetizer is served. They are very nice but I don't dare to eat too much because it's filling. I need to save the space for the 3 course meal!

It wasn't very cold on the Christmas eve night (Honey said snow usually comes in Jan) and that means I won't be having a white Christmas *sad sad* anyway, I am happy enough to celebrate our first Xmas together : )

They have a animal bazaar inside!! You can feed the animals, pat them and ride on them!

We stick around at the warm kitchen before we moved to the dining hall. This is the first dinner + Xmas-eve celebration with my Honey's family :)

It's getting freaking cold on top of the hill especially the night falls very early during the winter. I gotta keep myself near to the fire place to stay warm

I love the prawns! I even eat the prawns as breakfast and they were looking at me, possibly agreed with my honey that I am indeed a shark because Italians don't use to eat heavy breakfast. A cup of coffee/tea, a donut or few biscuits, that settled!

After a full round of good sleep, I guess my jet lag is getting better, and for sure it's better because finally we get together. That matters the most to me : )

My Xmas trip to Italy Day 2: Arrival in Venice

After another 7 hours finally I touched down on Venice airport, after the long waiting of my luggage, I walked out to the arrival hall with my heart beating fast. When I stepped out of the gate, my Honey and his parents were standing there (I know they arrived early and waited for sometime), smiling widely and welcomed me with a big big hugzzz~~~

It's quite cold, because it's winter now! My mom give me something to keep me warm but my Honey and his mom had prepared tonnes of clothes and jacket for me. That really keep me warm from inside. Thanks Giorgia ^^

Someone busy on the phone

Can see the snow mountain along the way back to Trieste. I hope I can go ski on the mountain although I have no idea how but my Honey promised to teach me (after I kinda crash into bush or tree). Anyway, it's a 2 hours drive to reach his home town - Trieste. I shoot with my DSLR till it's out of battery!

We stopped by AutoGrill for a quick lunch. Not as good as his mom's cooking of course :p

At night I get to meet his best friend Carlo and this is the picture taken in his kitchen. I was told that he is a very GOOD chef and he already planning to cook a feast for us!! Grazie Carlo!! I enjoyed eating so much without thinking about the calories : )

My Xmas Trip to Italy Day 1: Transit at Doha

Second time in my life flying on the plane alone *after my Europe trip* Actually, I was kinda worried, disregard my adventurous spirit, I always thinking ahead / too much, keep eyeing whomever getting near to me and mumbling to myself, "watch out, watch out..." and grab my passport/iphone/wallet TIGHTLY in my arms until I met my bf in Italy and I know I am in safe hands. LOL

22nd December KLIA --> Doha by Qatar Airways

Camwhore before I switched off my phone. Well, you can actually use the phone when the flight took off in the air! But do turn off 3G / data once you are away from your country. I received a SMS notification of bill exceeding RM500+ (ONLY DATA USAGE) on the second day :p

I am going to Italy for Christmas!! with my beloved boyfie!! Yeah~~

After 6-7 hours I've arrived the first Middle East Country and amused by basically everything. Thanks to my friend Eric I checked my flight itirinery 2 days before and realised that I have 20 hours before transit to Venice *Gosh!! Don't tell me I have to stay in the airport for 20 hours!!*.

I get panicked and immediately wake up my bf *4-5am in Italy* At the end he booked a hotel for me and I called Qatar Airways to find out that I can apply Visa on arrival with my credit card (100 Qatar Riyal = RM90).

What happened after I went through the custom (if you look at my flight docket, it's yellow) I realise that I was unable to retrieve my luggage because I am on a transit flight. When you are on a transit flight, you will be given a yellow docket where else direct flight will be BLUE docket. Which means my luggage will be delivered directly to Venice. Another problem >.<"

Luckily Qatar Airways staff is very helpful and friendly, after 45minutes (at first as informed, I have to wait estimately 3 hours) they successfully traced and retrived my luggage from another wing of the airport. THANK YOU THANK YOU!! *insha allah~~~~*

I was being 'robbed' 30 Qatar Riyal for the taxi fair (according to the map, it's only 2 streets away). When I complain, the taxi driver asked me where I come from, I said,"Malaysia" His reponse was," OH! Malaysians are VERRRRY RICH! "

I did some chit-chatting with the staff in the airport (while waiting for my luggage) and found out that it's FOC to visit Museum of Islamic Art. GOOD!! I love museum and it's FREE~

I spent almost 9 hours in the car to travel from KL --> Kedah and my backside told me I'm getting old mercilessly. Anyway, my initial plan was to take a bus back to KL after the ROM on Sunday morning. The morning ceremony falls on Monday and at first I told her I couldn't make it because I don't have any annual leave (haven't confirmed yet~) and I already took A LOT of unpaid leaves until my pocket feels the *ouch* However this crazy Bride FORCED me to stay by IGNORING my request to send me to the bus station after the lunch. She actually took my IC and booked a flight ticket on Monday in the afternoon.

I love my crazy friend!! But I was totally UNPREPARED! Don't even have extra undies & bra pun!! =.=

Got a really bad feng shui seat when I took the Air Asia shuttle bus from LCCT --> Salak Tinggi Station for ERL. The Indonesion mom change the diaper in front of me.... the stinky shit immediately fill up all the molecules between the air around me. Really suffocating!! Luckily it didn't stink my hair! Yiaks!!

After MIA for so long til I thought she is kidnapped by Alien, Thanks to Jojo's wedding, my old Honey fly from Sabah --> KL ---> (drive to) Seremban!

This time she doesn't come alone~ She bring along another GIRL! I thought is GUY tim =.= But nvm, the girl friend is very funny and at the same time, very macho ne~

They stayed at my house for a night then the day after we drove my adventurous little Myvi to Seremban la~ However, before journey begins, we had a wholesome durian feast at the roadside first! Because our beloved Sabahan guests say wana eat durian! "WE WANT DURIAN!!" "Ok~ Ok~ Let me ask ask where got durian to eat" (therefore I posted at my FB wall, thanks to all the suggestions given, we found a durian stall along Jalan Cheras :D

The First Day We Met @ Orly Airport, Paris

It was the last day of my Europe backpack. ShiLin and I slept overnight on the cold departmental hall of Orly Airport before we flew back to KL. My hair was messy, pale face without make up and don't even mention we didn't have a chance to shower.

We actually had the same flight to KL but our story begins even before the plane took off the ground ---> the first time he set his eyes on me *ahem* was at the boarding gate. I wasn't aware of his glare because my tiny brain was only thinking about "Hop on the plane and pengsan for 12 hours!"

According to his version of 'story', he heard my footsteps when he was checking mail on his iphone (I was wearing japanese slipper!! That sound is 'piak piak piak~~'), when he turned his head over me, immediately he was 'stunned' (He was thinking like,"GOD!My life is finish!") and he tried to approach me slowly on while me walked and sat down on the couch in front of the boarding gate.

It was me to start a conversation with him because I was curious why this angmo sitting next to me keep staring at me (with a cup of coffee in his hand). I asked if he is flying to KL as well... from there we chit-chat until boarded on plane and attended to separate seats. I got a window seat nex to a pair of old couple while he sat on the middle row.

When the plane shoot to the sky and we were able to take off our seabelts, he walked over my seat (pretending to go toilet but actually wana check me out! LOL) and invite me to sit with him. I was half asleep with my head rolling to the side and salive dripping wet (Imagine how 'charming' I looked that time), half consciously I stood up and went with him.

Then we spent 12 hours sitting together and tried to figure out each other's over-slanked English and understand (guessing) what we are trying to express. It was an very interesting experience... because he suddenly hold my hand.....then....*spark spark*

Arc de Triomphe de l'Étoile

According to Wikipedia, this is one of the most famous monuments in Paris. It stands in the centre of the Place Charles de Gaulle (originally named Place de l'Étoile), at the western end of the Champs-Élysées. There is a smaller arch, the Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel, which stands west of the Louvre. The Arc de Triomphe (in English: "Triumphal Arch") honours those who fought and died for France in the French Revolutionary and the Napoleonic Wars, with the names of all French victories and generals inscribed on its inner and outer surfaces. Beneath its vault lies the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier from World War I.

The Arc de Triomphe is the linchpin of the historic axis (Axe historique) – a sequence of monuments and grand thoroughfares on a route which goes from the courtyard of the Louvre, to the Grande Arche de la Défense. The monument was designed by Jean Chalgrin in 1806, and its iconographic program pitted heroically nude French youths against bearded Germanic warriors in chain mail. After a bus ride back in Paris, we checked in a hotel before we headed out again to Eiffel Tower.

Gosh!! I can't remember what's the hotel name =.=" That's the problem when I drag and drag and drag so long to blog!

Next time will shoot every little tiny details down! Room 105! Sure 'no run away'!

If you miss the time for the bus return to hotel or get lost in the city, just take the nearest MRT to Porte De'Italie. That's exactly what we did...Missed the bus after the visit at Eiffel Tower *Too crowded and the escalator too slow!*

We climbed up the tower through staircase and came down by escalator because it was pretty late and we feared to miss the bus back to our hotel. Well, the elevator is so congested and in fact, we really missed the bus! Therefore instead of rushing we just slow down and enjoy the view.

I was like "Whoa~" when the tower lights are on.

No matter you like it or not, Eiffel Tower is a must go place especially for all the girls. Finally I get to see the bronze steels with my own eyes @.@

The weather is very good....also very hot! It was the hottest day in France *40 degrees* Wana see roasted Buaya??

We tour around Paris while our tour manager, Jane was telling us stories about the dreamy Paris.

Backpacking in Europe Day 6: Museum District in Amsterdam @ Holland

After the visit at Van Gogh Museum, there are a lot more museums awaiting us to explore *As the map shows, it's call Museum District, its name sure means something!* If I have the time I surely will visit the Ann Frank House which is located at the cross of Prinsengrach and Leliegracht / Westermarkt.

Long time never been carried on shoulder like this... I wonder if my Rabbit can bear my weight. LOL

Rivers are everywhere here. Basically every main streets are side by side with rivers!

You don't need to own a car... you just need to own a boat!

Backpacking in Europe Day 5: Dinner in Dub Bel, Asmterdam @ Holland

After I joined the Contiki tour only I realised there were many things are on our own cost -- such as lunches, dinners, all tourist attraction entry tickets, boat fare.... The near RM7k that I paid is merely for the 11 days transportation (by bus) and the accomodation + a few nice fine dinners. The tour manager only gave us maps, some recommendations and tips, what time we shall gather at the meeting point and they will drop us on the street. It's all by ourself to explore the city!

Hmm.... it's kinda expensive lo!! But for the sake of conveniency and I wasn't the planner so I had no choice but keep digging my wallet and feel *pain* for the unexpected extra costs.

This is the first Contiki dinner at our cost. According to the tour manager, the Contiki tour members are eating at a cheaper price --> ya right! 13-15 euros is really CHEAP : (

Anyway, Buaya was trying hard to blend in all these unfriendly angmo(s) while still upset about some stupid people and also the extra cost! I realised that I can't withdraw money with my dad's HSBC credit card!! Gosh~~ I was really tight tight budget!

Thanks to the tips give by our dear Tour Manager we managed to skip the damn long-Q --> Joined the Short-Q to buy the entry ticket into Van Gogh Museum. Aha!

Just walk into Diamant Museum and you will see the counter.

See the long queue? And it was raining that time!! Bery bery cold ne~~

The tickets into any museum or tourist attraction will never less than 10 euros. As for Van Gogh Museum, it took us 14 euros! Please bear in mind.... there's ONE important rule for whoever wish to visit this museum must know: This ticket is ONLY valid for ONE entry.... meaning - If you walk out and you will not allowed to re-enter! eventhough your ticket shows the current date! I was blocked by the black security when we went out for food and return. I beg and beg and beg with my watery eyes then only he released me in at last. Hehe~~~ Tears do work sometimes *wink*

Last night I went to fetch my bro home from the LRT Station and as usual I brought Coco on a car ride *Bearing the risk being summoned not keeping her inside a cage* But I don't really bother it, because we don't have a cage and never CAGED our Princess. NEVER!! Unless you count my house as a BIG CAGE and my car as a SMALL CAGE *Then I'll be cage-ing myself too : )

First time in her 12-year life time she was unable to jump on the passenger seat. Usually when I open the passenger door she will do the double hop from ground into the car --> On to the passenger seat. Guess age is slowly coming to her... or because we over-feed her and she is too heavy?!

Crazy me and my bro keep flashing at her. I was one hand on the steeling and another flashing my iPhone at her. So cute ler~~~ She is hugging my gear!!

The first day with Kontiki Tour. I had a good sleep and my feet is feeling better after a night rest. Hotel Ibis is pretty good!

In order to reach the Jubel Park we have to take metro to Schuman Station (Line 1: End with Stockel).

Gotta prepare a lot coins for the ticket machine at the Metro station because there might NOT be a ticket booth with personnel for you to purchase their metro line ticket. And not all machine accept notes!

Just follow the instructions, it's pretty easy! *of course, please switch to English first!*

Approximately another 2 weeks more the baby girl will come to this world.

Backpacking in Europe Day 5: My Breakfast @ Belgium

It's only Day 5 and I can not stand the cold bread / sandwich wit ham and cheese any more. I was near to tears when I hold my hot soup cup noodle (that I bought from the Chinese store the day earlier) in my hands. 超感动！

Our clean and tidy room. Everything looks so new and the bed is sooooo comfortable til I don't want to lift my ass from it.

This is in fact the nicest hostel we ever stayed. Although it's a bit far from the town. No kidding! We spent a lot of time walking on the streets dragging our luggage while searching for this hostel. It got free Wifi and we can even online in our room!! *Usually you need to online in the lobby or certain area*

One thing about this Youth Hostel is... Breakfast is not provided! Go grab your meal out there unless you are well prepare like me *ahem* My life is supported by all the cup noodles that I bought. I should have buy more on that day because I didn't come across any other Chinese store after that day.

The weather is perfect! Hope it don't rain later... But disappointingly, it does rain later :(

This is our last day in Belgium. Afterwards we are going to check out and take a train to Holland!! yeay!
